International Top Speaker
M2M Summit 2014 offers a comprehensive program
The topic of this year’s M2M summit will be “M2M – From technology to business” highlighting the benefits of today’s M2M solutions for businesses and end users.
Aachen, 22 September 2014 – For the 8th edition of this event, the M2M Alliance will bring together key international speakers, who will present and discuss the latest developments in the fields of M2M, Internet of Things and industry 4.0. The event, which takes place from the 20th to the 21st of October at the Congress Center, in Dusseldorf is for the first time spread over two days and is further highlighted by a special evening networking event. In total, over 60 exhibitors and more than 1,000 participants from 30 countries are expected to attend.
Wide range of issues
Machine-to-machine communication and the Internet of Things have evolved rapidly in recent years. From complicated technical solutions for just a few in the beginning, this platform has transformed into a diversified mass market providing ideal conditions for optimizing processes for many companies and end users alike.
With internationally renowned experts such as, Prof. Uwe Kubach (SAP), Miguel Blockstrand (Ericsson) and Michael Curry (IBM Software Group) among others, the M2M Alliance has secured a number of high profile top speakers, who will present the latest trends and opportunities at the M2M Summit. Covering many broad subject areas such as intelligent energy management, automated farming, wearables and connected cars, many of the numerous aspects and advantages of M2M communication will be addressed and analyzed.
Platform for direct exchange
“At the M2M Summit we want providers and end users to have the opportunity to directly exchange with each other,” said Eric Schneider, the first chairman of the M2M Alliance. “Only through a direct exchange will companies be better positioned to understand what is already possible today and how to use these solutions for themselves. Manufacturers and developers will gain a better sense of what end users really need as well as how to manage these specific needs”, says Schneider.
On day one of the event a panel discussion will be held. The focus will be on customer experience. For those interested, information sessions will also be offered, where participants can quickly check on what is already possible today. Here, a look at the future of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the benefits of M2M in the Industry 4.0 will also be included. A large-scale evening event on the 20th of October at the Rhine Terrace in Dusseldorf provides an opportunity for other exchanges.
Greeting by Hannelore Kraft – partner country USA
Hannelore Kraft, Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, supports this year’s M2M Summit as patron. Due to the many international participants, the entire event will again be held in English. With the US as a partner country, the international Congress should generate even more interest than in previous years with an accompanying, and even greater, exhibition. Last year, the M2M Summit set a new record for visitors and exhibitors. With around 1,000 registered attendees and over 60 exhibitors, the M2M Summit has established itself as the premier M2M event in Europe. These figures are likely to be exceeded this year.
